Wrocław reaffirmed its culinary ambitions on 22 October 2025 with the second edition of the Wrocław Culinary Grand Prix, a competition quickly becoming one of Poland’s most dynamic platforms for emerging chef talent.
This year’s theme, “A Calendar in Accordance with Nature: Golden Polish Autumn,” challenged chefs to showcase the region’s seasonal richness, with an international jury selecting three finalists honoured by the Mayor.
The three winners are:
• 1st place: Yassin Bugajny from Wierzbowa 15 restaurant
• 2nd place: Wojciech Janowicz from the Campo Modern Grill restaurant
• 3rd place: Paweł Kaszubski from the La Maddalena restaurant
What sets the Grand Prix apart is its commitment to chef development. The top two winners earned internships at the Michelin-starred Hofmann restaurant in Barcelona, while a special award from the Academy of Gastronomy in Poland opens the door to an additional internship in Italy. For both seasoned professionals and rising stars, these opportunities offer career-defining exposure and international experience.
The competition also reflects a broader momentum in Wrocław’s food scene. This year, the city celebrated its entry into the Michelin Guide, with 22 restaurants recognised, including three Bib Gourmand distinctions. It’s a milestone that highlights years of sustained investment in local gastronomy: deeper links between chefs and regional producers, chef education programs, and flagship events like the Grand Prix that showcase Wrocław’s culinary identity.
City-led recognition of chefs is not just symbolic. It boosts local pride, strengthens tourism appeal, and helps retain young culinary talent by offering meaningful opportunities at home. As Wrocław continues to celebrate and invest in its chefs, it sets an inspiring example: when a city believes in its culinary community, the impact reaches far beyond the kitchen.
