The Food Capitals is delighted to announce Wrocław as the host city of the next Food Capitals Summit 2027, bringing together city leaders, food innovators, urban planners, and gastronomic changemakers from all around the world.
Over the past years, Wrocław has emerged as a leading voice in sustainable urban food systems, championing initiatives that connect urban farming, vibrant public markets, food education, and collaborative governance through its Gastronomy Council. The city has consistently demonstrated how food can become a powerful tool for placemaking, resilience, and community building.
Many in our network will already be familiar with Wrocław's work through the Cities at the Table podcast episode "From Farm to Fridge: Wrocław's Bold Recipe for Sustainable Gastronomy", as well as its contributions to the Feast Flop Fix in Lyon in 2025, where the city shared insights about urban farming in the session "From Farm to the Wrocław Table".
The conversation continued at the Feast Flop Fix 2026 session in Castelldefels with "From Idea to Action: Building Wrocław's Gastronomic Brand", where Wrocław shared the city’s strategy for developing its culinary reputation. This strategy has paid off: two of the city’s restaurants have been awarded a Michelin star and three others a Bib Gourmand, making Wrocław a leading emerging culinary destination.
It doesn’t stop there, Wrocław will proudly host Placemaking Week Europe 2026, demonstrating its ability to address the themes of resilience, education, cohesion, and collective intelligence. Together, these milestones reflect a city that is not only shaping its own food future but helping inspire a wider movement of cities placing food at the heart of urban development.
The Food Capitals Summit 2027 in Wrocław will provide a unique opportunity to explore how strategic food policies, local food ecosystems, market culture, urban agriculture, gastronomy-led placemaking, and cross-sector collaboration can create healthier, more vibrant and more sustainable cities.
